Recipes from the Melting Pot: Flan with a South American Twist
Flan is a custard dessert with a layer of soft caramel on top.
2 14oz cans of sweetened condensed milk
2 cups of milk ( I use 2% but optional)
2 whole eggs
4 egg yolks
Blend all together for 2-3 mins.
Add 1 cup of white sugar to a bundt cake pan. Caramelize the sugar over a low flame until the pan is completely coated.
Add the mixture to the bundt cake pan. Put the pan on a cookie sheet with water (baine marie) and bake for approximately 1hr at 350 degrees F.
Let cool and unmold into a large round plate.
Enjoy!!
A big thank you to Marina A. for submitting this recipe.
