Service Area

The Kingston office has jurisdiction over U.S. immigration benefits and eligibility investigation activities for the following countries: Jamaica, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Cayman Islands, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Montserrat, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao islands. The Kingston Office also provides certain U.S. immigration services on behalf of U.S. Citizens stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The Embassy is located at 142 Old Hope Road in Liguanea, Kingston 6.

Hours of Operation

The office is open to the public Monday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. An appointment is not necessary to visit the office. The Embassy is closed on Jamaican and American holidays.

Appointments:

An appointment is not necessary to visit the office.

Walk-ins:

Walk-ins are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Public Transportation

Bus:

There is a JUTC bus stop almost directly in front of the Embassy that services many bus routes.

Taxis:

Kingston has many licensed taxi companies. Persons taking a taxi to the Embassy may be dropped off and picked up in front of the Embassy where there is a designated drop-off zone.

Parking & Handicap Accessibility

Commercial parking is within a short walking distance from the Embassy. Two parking facilities that are located near the Embassy are:

  • 27 Munroe Road (Parking fee is payable in advance at Paymaster)
  • 168 Old Hope Road (Paymaster receipt or cash)

The Embassy has no contractual or legal relationship with these lots and accepts no responsibility for their condition, operation, or safety.

Accessibility for individuals with special needs is available.

Paying Fees

Fees for applications and petitions are listed in the Forms section of the USCIS website.

Paying in Person: Fees for applications and petitions that are submitted to this office are collected by the Consular Cashier Services at the U.S. Embassy. The cashier will accept U.S. and Jamaican Dollars or U.S. credit cards.

Paying via Mail: The fees for all applications and petitions submitted to this office via mail must be paid with an International money orders in U.S. Dollars(preferably an International U.S. Postal Money Order that is issued by a bank with a U.S. affiliation) and payable to the "Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services." Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

Form I-130

The Kingston Field Office is authorized to accept immigrant visa petitions filed by U.S citizens who have been residents of Jamaica for at least six (6) months. The U.S. Citizen petitioner must submit proof of residency by presenting a Jamaica Resident Card. Petitions may be filed on behalf of the U.S. citizen's spouse, children, and parents. An appointment is not necessary. Filings are accepted on a walk-in basis Monday and Thursday, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, except on Jamaican and American holidays. Form N-400

U.S. immigration offices overseas do not accept or process Naturalization applications from U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs) that live overseas. See the Citizenship section on the USCIS Website for Naturalization eligibility criteria and the proper filing procedures.

Form I-131 Parole

The Kingston Field Office does not issue Humanitarian Parole. Individuals must apply for Humanitarian Parole by submitting their applications to:

Form I-131 Re-entry

The Kingston Field Office does not issue or extend Re-entry permits. Instructions on how to obtain or replace a Re-entry permit are found in the How Do I Get A Travel Document section on the USCIS website.

Transportation Boarding Letters

The USCIS Field Office in Kingston, Jamaica does not process Transportation Letters for U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR) whose documents have been lost or stolen.

Transportation letters are issued by the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Kingston, Jamaica. Applications are accepted on an appointment basis only. Appointments can be made at anytime via email at: icekingston@state.gov. For additional information on how to obtain a Transportation Letter, please call 876-702-6000 and follow the prompts.
