Do the vast majority of immigrants come from Latin America?

Answer: Not at all! Today, immigrants to the U.S. come from a wide range of countries.

In 1960, at least 75 percent of the foreign-born population in the U.S. came from Europe. Today, only 12 percent came from Europe. Today, about 11 million come from Mexico, or about 29 percent.

The other big countries from which the U.S. receives many immigrants includes China, India. the Philippines, Vietnam, El Salvador, Cuba and Korea.
