Immigration Fact of the Week: Minority Population Growth in the U.S.

What’s the level of minority population growth in the U.S.?

According to U.S. Census data that spans from 2000-2010, 92 percent of population growth in the country was driven by a “non-white” demographic.

U.S. population growth for the first decade of the new century was driven mostly by minority populations of African, Asia, Latin and Middle-Eastern descent. The U.S. Census reports the combination of all minority groups will comprise more than half the U.S. population in the next 30 years.
