Ingredients:
1 cup of warm water
1 cup of warm milk
1 bag of yeast
1 tsp of sugar
1 tsp of salt
4 Tbsp of olive oil
3¼ cups of flour
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water and add sugar. Let sit 5 minutes. Mix the salt and olive oil with the warm milk and then add to the yeast mixture. Add the flour to the wet mixture, a cup at a time. Batter will be sticky.
3. Drop by tablespoons into the hot oil a few at a time. Zeppole will turn over by themselves. Fry until golden brown, about 3 or 4 minutes. Drain in a paper sack and dust with confectioners’ sugar. Serve warm.
