PUBLIC PARKING: Free parking is available at the front of the building, on both lower level and upper level lots.

Public Transportation

Driving directions are as follows:

From I-275 N:
Use the right 2 lanes and take Exit 39 the Exit for Kennedy Boulevard (FL Route 60) and Westshore Boulevard
Immediately follow W Kennedy Blvd and follow the right two lanes to continue on W Kennedy, which also becomes FL Route 60 East.
Continue on W.Kennedy/FL Route 60 East until you reach Westshore Blvd
Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto N Westshore Blvd
Continue on N Westshore Blvd until you reach W Cypress St, about 1 mile. On the way, you will pass under I-275, but DO NOT get on I-275.
When you reach W. Cypress St, turn left and continue almost 1 mile until you arrive at the Tampa Asylum Office. The building is number 5524. Turn left to enter the parking lot.

From I-275 S:
Use the right two lanes to take Exit 40A for N Westshore Blvd
Turn right on to N Westshore Blvd and immediately move to the left lane in order to prepare to turn at the next light on to W. Cypress St.
Turn left at W. Cypress St and continue almost 1 mile until you arrive at the Tampa Asylum Office. The building is number 5524. Turn left to enter the parking lot.

From the North via Veterans Expressway:
Continue on Veterans Expressway after route 589 ends and the road becomes Route 60.
Take exit 1B for Spruce St toward Raymond James Stadium
When you get off at Exit 1B, use the right lane and follow signs for the additional ramp to Cypress St
Follow the ramp until you reach W. Cypress St
Turn left onto W Cypress St. the Tampa Asylum Office will be the second parking lot on your right.


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) provides bus service that drops off and picks up passengers at a stop located in front of the office's parking lot. The stop is currently served by HART bus route #30. For more information about HART bus service in the area visit
